Introduction to DR SEPAC

Welcome to the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)  for the Dighton-Rehoboth School District "DR SEPAC". We serve families of children who live in or attend the schools in the district.

At DRSEPAC, we are a passionate collective of parents, guardians, educators, and community members. Our primary purpose is to support, inform, and empower families with children who have special needs, ensuring they receive the best possible educational opportunities. By fostering collaboration between families and educational institutions, DRSEPAC plays a pivotal role in our community, bridging gaps and championing the rights of our exceptional learners. Join us as we work together, making a significant difference in the lives of our children and shaping an inclusive future for all.

What We Do

We actively create platforms and resources to ensure our community is well-informed and united. Here's a glimpse into our initiatives:

Organizing Guest Speakers: We regularly host expert guest speakers who share their insights on a range of topics, from understanding special education laws to introducing therapeutic interventions. These sessions aim to equip parents with knowledge and tools to advocate effectively for their children.

IEP Binder Workshops: Recognizing the importance of being organized in the special education journey, we conduct workshops to assist parents in creating and maintaining an IEP binder. This initiative ensures that parents have all essential documents at their fingertips, making IEP meetings more productive and less stressful.

Facebook Group: Our active Facebook group is a hub for parents to connect, share experiences, ask questions, and find support. It's a community within a community, where every member is dedicated to uplifting and assisting one another.

Collaboration with Schools: We believe in the power of collaboration. SEPACs actively works alongside schools to ensure that our children's educational environments are inclusive, supportive, and tailored to their unique needs. By fostering a strong partnership with the district, we aim to create a seamless and positive educational experience for all our children.
