Identification of a Disability

To be eligible for special education services a student must first be found to have a disability that causes an inability to make effective progress in school. The Special Education Eligibility Initial and Reevaluation Determination (ED I-Easy IEP) should be used to assist the Team in making an eligibility determination according to State and Federal Special Education regulations.

Team members should identify the type of disability from the list below before taking the next
step in the eligibility process.

Developmental Delay

Communication
Specific Learning

Sensory: Hearing, Vision, Deaf-Blind
